1897 - Springfield. Includes ads for Horsford's baking powder "recommended by physicians" (and specified in some recipes) and a food market promising "Meat of all kinds. We keep constantly on hand Beef, Pork, Veal, Mutton, Ham, Tripe, Sausage, Poultry and all kinds of Meat usually kept in a country market." Recipes of note: green corn soup (4), oyster-stuffed turkey (14), Indian meal pudding (39), scripture cake (85), potato yeast (98). Handwritten notes include pickles and pasted in newspaper recipes.
