1940 - compiled by women's club and includes ads for dairy/milk. Interesting mix of traditional from-scratch recipes and recipes depending on packaged products . Recipes include Kool-Aid as well as grape juice made from mashed grapes; Spry pie shell and minute tapioca; quick escalloped tuna made with potato chips, canned tuna, canned mushroom soup; pineapple cheese salad with grated American cheese; Grape nut puff pudding rich. Also ice cream made with "top milk”. Evidence of influence of new immigrants: tripe soup and "veal with peas" calling for "Italian bacon" (probably pancetta).
